    Planning Commission Meeting
                A Planning Commission meeting will be held in accordance with zoning procedures of the City of Metter and the Zoning Ordinance by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Metter, GA at City Hall, 49 S. Rountree St., Metter, GA at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 for an advisory review of the following requests:
    An application C-1809 (M33-099): Nhu Phuong Nguyen request a conditional use variance for .33 acres of property located at 328 Southwest Broad Street tax parcel M33 099 to allow part of the commercially zoned property to be utilized as a residence.
     
    An application RZ-1809 (M47-012); RZ-1809 (M47-042); and RZ-1809 (M47-030): Pillman Enterprises, LLC request a zoning map amendment for 1.1 acres, .38 acres, and .37 acres for property located on South Lewis Street from the corner of S. Lewis Street and E. Lytell Street to the corner of S. Lewis and E. Stripling Street on the east-side of South Lewis Street.  Request is to rezone the parcels from R-2 Single Family Residential to HOC-1A Limited Highway Oriented Commercial

    Notice of Public Hearing Zoning Ordinance Amendment
    A Public Hearing will be held in accordance with zoning and public hearing procedures of the City of Metter and the Zoning Ordinance by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Metter, GA at City Hall, 49 S. Rountree St., Metter, GA at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 for or against the following requests under the Metter Zoning Ordinance:

    There will be a City Council meeting held that same day (January 14, 2019) at 5:30 P.M. and action taken by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Metter, to vote for or against the above requests for a Zoning Amendment and a Conditional Use Variance under the City of Metter Zoning Ordinance.
     
    Ample opportunity to be heard will be given to any citizen and all parties who are interested in attending the hearing.
     
    Persons with special needs relating to handicapped accessibility or foreign language shall contact City Clerk, Angie Conner, at 912-685-2527 prior to the above date.  This individual can be located at 49 South Rountree Street, Metter, Georgia (City Hall) between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, except holidays.

  • About Metter Fire-Rescue

    The Metter Fire-Rescue Department is a combination department consisting of fulltime professional firefighters and volunteer professional firefighters. Our coverage area is 249 square miles covering the entire Candler County area. Fire station #1 is located in downtown Metter at 56 South Lewis Street, and station #2 is located at 120 South Main Street in the Town of Pulaski. We have an ISO rating of a class 4 within the City of Metter and in the Town of Pulaski. The area outside the City of Metter within 5 road miles of the Metter Station #1 has an ISO rating of 4Y. The area outside the Town of Pulaski within 5 road miles of the Pulaski Station #2 has an ISO rating of class 4Y. We have mutual aid agreements with all surrounding fire departments.  

    The Metter Fire-Rescue provides the highest level of emergency services, which includes:
    •    fire protection
    •    rescue services
    •    emergency management
    •    public education and fire prevention

    It is the vision of the Metter Fire-Rescue to serve and provide a safer community through standards of excellence in our leaders and personnel who are guided by the principles of trust, integrity, honesty and loyalty, and who take pride in the traditional values of our department through teamwork, education, peak performance and responsiveness.

    The Metter Fire-Rescue is dedicated to providing for the safety and welfare of the public through preservation of life, health, property and the environment, utilizing core values of service, bravery, honor and preparedness. Metter Fire-Rescue will strive to protect and preserve the health and safety of all personnel and to return them safely to their families.
