    Called Meeting
    Thursday, June 7, 2018
    4:30 pm

     

    A called meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow, June 7, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. here at city hall. The purpose of this meeting is to approve Forms and Intergovernmental Agreements for the 2018 City of Metter/Candler County Service Delivery Strategy.

    CALL FOR SPECIAL ELECTION

     

    Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-540, a special election shall be held in the  City of Metter to fill the vacancy in the office of City Council, District 1, Seat 3 , caused by the upcoming resignation of Councilwoman Marsha Colson.  The special election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

     

    Qualifying for the special election shall be held at Metter City Hall, 49 S. Rountree St., Metter, Georgia beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday July 30, 2018 and ending at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2017.  The qualifying fee shall be $81.00

     

    All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on October 9, 2018.  Early voting will be held October 15, 2018 through November 2, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jack Strickland Building, 621 W. Pine Street, Metter, Georgia.

     

    Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

     

    Should a runoff be required, such runoff will be held on December 4, 2018.

    There will be a Called Meeting of City Council on Monday, June 11, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Candler County K-8 Complex, Bigwood Room, for the purpose of engaging in mediation with the Candler County Board of Commissioners for the renegotiation of the City of Metter/Candler County Service Delivery Strategy.

    The Mayor and Council of the City of Metter are scheduled to adopt the FY 19 Budget at a called meeting on Thursday, June 21, 2019. The meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 49 S. Rountree St., Metter, GA 30439.

    (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019)

    A Public Hearing on the FY 19 Budget is scheduled for Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 49 S. Rountree St., Metter, GA 30439. At this meeting, the Mayor and Council will receive both written and oral comments about the Annual Operating and Capital Budget for the City of Metter, Georgia. A qualified interpreter for the hearing impaired will be available upon request made at least ten (10) days in advance of this meeting. Please call 912-685-2527 to request an interpreter or for more information.
