The City of Metter Sanitation Department collects some limbs and yard waste for residents by use of a knuckle boom truck. This department collects more than 550 tons annually of leaves and limbs and more than 187 tons of junk annually. Leaves and limbs, as well as all the junk that is picked up are taken to the Candler County Landfill.
The City of Metter Sanitation Department provides residential curbside household waste collection throughout the city on a weekly basis and commercial waste collection three times a week. Disposal of the household waste is in the Candler County Landfill. This department collects more than 1,600 tons of household garbage annually.
Only Household Trash can be put inside the polycarts. No other items such as Junk, Waste Oil, Yard Debris is allowed to be put in a polycart.

Lost or stolen polycarts must be replaced by purchasing a new one from the City of Metter Public Works. A new polycart is $65.00.
