The City of Metter will be celebrating “Georgia Cities Week” April 20th – 25th by hosting a variety of events including Metter PD & Fire Greeting at Metter Elementary School, Coloring Contest, and a Downtown Event! We will also have free adoptions at the Animal Shelter all week! The theme of this year’s Georgia Cities Week is “Love Your City.”
Events planned for the week are:
• Monday, April 20th from 8 am - 5:00 pm, the City of Metter will host a Georgia Cities Week Cookies with Customer Service at City Hall. Stop by and grab a cookie!
• Tuesday, April 21st from 12 pm - 1 pm, a Grab-N-Go Lunch honoring all city employees will take place at the Metter Community Center.
• Wednesday April 22nd, the Metter Police Department & Metter Fire Department will be greeting kids at Metter Elementary School at drop-off.
• Thursday Downtown Event! Thursday, April 23rd in the Central Downtown Park from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm come and enjoy Food Trucks, Music, Meet our pets that are looking for a new home, Meet each department within the City of Metter, Games including a Scavenger Hunt, and Touch-A-Truck event to see vehicles used by each Department. We can’t wait to see you there!
• Giving Friday! On Friday April 24th, we are accepting donations for the Metter Animal Shelter. Donations can be dropped of at City Hall from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Want to adopt a furry friend? Metter Animal Shelter will be having Free adoptions all week!
• On Saturday April 25th , Join us as we come together to keep our community clean and beautiful during the Great American Clean Up starting at 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.
• Georgia Cities Week Coloring Contest for children Pre-K – 3rd grade. Coloring contest will begin Monday April 20th – Thursday April 23rd . Winners will be announced Friday, April 24th.
