PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing will be held at Metter City Hall, located at 49 South Rountree Street at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, August 11, 2025, to consider the RE-ZONING Amendment of a 43.87-acre property located east of the intersection of East Hiawatha Street and South Terrell Street (Tax Parcel ID M56-001), from R-4 (Multi-Family Residential) to a Residential Planned Unit Development (PUD).

The project consists of a combination of single-family detached and townhouse units.  A common area will include a centralized mail kiosk and an amenity package to be determined.  The overall open space/green space will exceed 25% of the overall property.  The project will likely be phased with phasing designations to be provided.

The property that will be affected by this Re-zoning is bounded on the East by property owned by Cheryl D. Odom and Karen K. Goggans; on the North by property owned by Copart of Connecticut, Inc., and East Pine Street owned by the City of Metter; on the West by property owned by Regina Sutton; Madie Strange Estate c/o Andy Strange; Danie D. & Dandra J. Ferguson; Clint Turner; Felicia George Prince; John Kevin & Kathleen M. Gibbs; Ashely L. & Shayla Donaldson; Holly Kirby & Beau Beasley; Stephen & Sharon Herndon; Melinda E. & Christopher Swint; and on the South by East Hiawatha Street owned by the City of Metter. A map of property proposed for re-zoning is located at City Hall for review. 

The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear public comments for and/or against Re-Zoning this property.

There will be a City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m., following the Public Meeting. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Metter will act for and/or against the Zoning Amendment under the City of Metter Zoning Ordinance.

Ample opportunity to be heard will be given to any citizen and all parties who are interested in attending the hearing.
