PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
CITY OF METTER
The City of Metter Planning Commission, at its meeting on August 5, 2025, at 5:15 p.m. at Metter City Hall, located at 49 South Rountree Street, Metter, GA, will meet for an advisory review, and will consider a Re-Zoning Amendment for a 43.87 acre property located east of the intersection of East Hiawatha Street and South Terrell Street (Tax Parcel ID M56-001), from R-4 (Multi-Family Residential) to a Residential Planned Unit Development (PUD).
The project consists of a combination of single-family detached and townhouse units. A common area will include a centralized mail kiosk and an amenity package to be determined. The overall open space/green space will exceed 25% of the overall property. The project will likely be phased with phasing designations to be provided.
The property that will be affected by this Re-zoning is bounded on the East by property owned by Cheryl D. Odom and Karen K. Goggans; on the North by property owned by Copart of Connecticut, Inc., and East Pine Street owned by the City of Metter; on the West by property owned by Regina Sutton; Madie Strange Estate c/o Andy Strange; Danie D. & Dandra J. Ferguson; Clint Turner; Felicia George Prince; John Kevin & Kathleen M. Gibbs; Ashely L. & Shayla Donaldson; Holly Kirby & Beau Beasley; Stephen & Sharon Herndon; Melinda E. & Christopher Swint; and on the South by East Hiawatha Street owned by the City of Metter. A map of the property proposed for re-zoning is located at City Hall for review.
The purpose of this meeting is to hear public comments for and/or against Re-Zoning this property.
Ample opportunity to be heard will be given to any citizen and all parties who are interested in attending the hearing.
