NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A Public Hearing will be held at Metter City Hall, located at 49 South Rountree Street, at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 13, 2026, in accordance with zoning and public hearing procedures of the City of Metter, the State of Georgia and the City of Metter Zoning Ordinance, to consider the following application requests:
1 – CU_022026_001: Brie Scansaroli requests a Conditional Use to operate a Dog Kennel at the property located at 15 N. Kennedy Street (map and parcel# M33 079). This property is bounded on the North by property owned by Hannelore C. Boughner & Rebecca Thomas; on the South by property owned by 4dham Family Holdings, LLC; on the East by North Kennedy Street, owned by the City of Metter; and on the West by property owned by 4dham Family Holdings, LLC.
2 – CU_032026_002: Bill McKenzie, as agent for Jong Wan Kim, requests a Conditional Use to permit residential use in an existing dwelling at 715 N. Fortner Road (map and parcel# 037 046) in the L-1 (light industrial) zoning district. This property is bounded on the North by property owned by Cindy Woods; Eliezer Sanchez; Estate of Patricia D Sikes; and Carolyn Street, owned by the City of Metter; on the South by property owned by the Candler County Industrial Authority; on the East by property owned by the Candler County Industrial Authority; and on the West by Fortner Road, owned by the City of Metter.
3 – VAR_032026_001: Joey Burke requests a variance from Sec. 751 (sidewalks required) and Sec. 738 (curb and gutter required) of the City of Metter Subdivision Regulations, in a workforce housing development at Fortner Road & W. Hiawatha Street (map and parcel# 037 004 002). This property is bounded on the North by property owned by Southern Properties-Patterson LLC; Terrence Mulholland Jr; Briarcreek Properties Inc; Ricky & Jody Conner; and W. Hiawatha Street, owned by the City of Metter; on the South by property owned by the Candler County Industrial Authority; on the East by Fortner Road, owned by the City of Metter; and on the West by property owned by R E and Mary Hendrix.
The purpose of this meeting is to hear public comments for and/or against the above requests. Ample opportunity to be heard will be given to any citizen and all parties who are interested in attending the hearing.
The Mayor and City Council of the City of Metter will take action for and/or against the above requests for Conditional Use and Variance under the City of Metter Zoning Ordinance.
